We write for people who run WordPress sites and have noticed that search is changing: fewer clicks from a results page, more answers assembled by an assistant. Every guide here is meant to be acted on the same day — what to change, where, and how to check it worked. No predictions about the future: only what we have tested on real sites.
What GEO is, in one paragraph
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work of making a site easy for an AI assistant to read, quote and attribute. It overlaps with SEO but is not the same thing: a page can rank well on Google and still be unusable for a model, because the answer is buried in a carousel, the structure is implicit, or nowhere does it plainly say what the page is about. GEO is mostly about making meaning explicit.
Where to start
If this is new to you, read “What Is GEO?” first, then “GEO vs SEO” to see where the two overlap. If you already know the theory and want the mechanics, go to the llms.txt guide and the one on schema markup. Everything we describe can be done with the free version of GEO Suite; where a Pro feature saves time we say so, instead of hiding it.
